STAY AWAY FROM KAELO GAP COVER, POOR NON EXISTENT AFTER SERVICE

I have been a member of this gap cover scheme for more than 5 years and have never lodged a claim against MY POLICY. Last year I had an operation and am now trying to claim funds to cover the out of medical aid rates for the doctors, etc. Firstly, I had endless problems contacting them. When I eventually found contact details for the company, it took numerous attempts before getting any acknowledgement from them. They have been furnished with all the information, documentation etc. and I am still waiting for this matter to be resolved / finalised. I am starting to receive letters of demand for the outstanding accounts but still nothing from Kaelo. Not sure what I am supposed to do to get some joy out of them, no communication or anything from them. My husband has been trying to contact them telephonically and electronically for the last two months but also have had no joy. Very bad service, they take your money every month but when it comes to honoring their side of the bargain, its like hunting a ghost. I would not recommend anyone to take gap cover with this company. I am planning on reporting them to the Financial Services Board and Consumer Protection.
