PrimeCure (Kaelo Health)

Kaelo Health referred me to a Doctor within the PrimeCure (Kaelo Health) GP network around Midrand, supposedly to be a licensed dispensing Doctor.

The doctor did dispense two types of medication for us. However, she also gave us a prescription of an antibiotic of which I believe is an important drug that was also supposed to be dispensed by the Doctor.

Therefore, I have contacted PrimeCure (Kaelo Health) again querying about the prescribed antibiotics and the consultant on the line advised me to either go to Dischem or Clicks Pharmarcy in Carswald. As they are contracted with Kaelo Health.

When I get to Dichem Pharmarcy, I got a rejection code number 50 stating, “the provided antibiotics on the prescription should be provided by a dispensing Doctor”.

Now I am sitting here with a sick child who needs to be on the provided antibiotics. I am paying R604.00 per month expecting a full service of both consultation and dispensed medication as per Kaelo’s provided GPs. Now I am told by Kaelo that the prescription that I am given by a Doctor WHICH IS REFERED BY KAELO cannot be paid for because it does not form part of their policy to pay for prescriptions.

I need the prescribed antibiotics as per the attachment for my dependent and I believe PrimeCure (Kaelo Health) should be responsible to find me a Doctor that can dispense this medication for me as soon as possible.
