Dischem Health Insurance is BAD NEWS

If there was a zero star option, I would prefer giving zero stars. My husband and I have two seperate Dischem Health Insurance policies. We are on the highest packages available. I am writng this review on his behalf Two months ago my husband was taken up in hospital. He was sent there immediately after a doctor's appointment with heart failure. At that point his heart capcity was at 25 %. It WAS NOT planned hospitalization (confirmed in letters by his GP and the 2 specialists who dealt with his case. ) We took this insurance because it advertises full hospital cover in case of emergencies as well as specialist visits and chronic medicine. We have since learnt that they have their own idea of what "emergency" means (heart failure doesn't count), they declined covering all our doctors and will only cover chronic medicine that is on their list and I would like to state that this is the cheapest, lowest grade medicines We have paid all the doctors (borrowed money) and placed our claim. First they loose our documents (twice) and now we get a letter stating that the entire claim has been rejected because the hospitalization does not count as an emergency. My husband's heart failure did not happen due to any chronic illness. ( he has no colestrol, sugar or artery issues as can be seen on all his doctor's statements). It was caused purely due to stress. He is currently in recovery, praise God, but this situation is causing additional stress, which is why I am writing this review. Any insurance company that sees a heart emergency as a minor issue not worthy of their attention can not be trusted. I would highly advise anyone AGAINST taking Dischem Health insurance. Nothing of what they advertise is actually true.
