Kadi's Hill of Good Hope selfcatering accommodation - DO NOT STAY

We booked **Kadi's Hill of Good Hope Self-Catering in Carlswald, Johannesburg** through LekkeSlaap, based on the photographs and information provided in the listing.

I want to make it very clear that **our complaint is not with LekkeSlaap**. We have always found their agents helpful and professional. Our concern is specifically with **the accommodation itself and the owner's handling of the situation**.

Upon arrival, the property did not, in our experience, reflect what was presented in the listing photographs. The unit appeared unfinished and in need of maintenance. A glass panel was standing against a wall, tiles were stacked on the balcony, the shower-door hinge was loose and rusted, and there was visible dust on the tables and floor.

There were also only **7 units of prepaid electricity** available when we arrived. The management company later indicated that they could have loaded more electricity if we had contacted them. However, I do not believe it should be the guest's responsibility to discover this on arrival and request electricity. A unit should be adequately prepared before guests check in.

We were also uncomfortable with the surrounding area and did not feel safe staying there.

Due to the overall condition of the accommodation and our concerns, we decided not to stay and had to find alternative accommodation at our own expense. Despite this, the owner refused to provide any form of refund.

Again, **LekkeSlaap is not the problem here**. Their agents have been helpful. The issue is that, in our experience, the actual accommodation did not reflect what we expected from the listing, and the owner was unwilling to offer a refund after we decided that we could not stay there.

I believe LekkeSlaap should review this particular property and its listing to determine whether it meets the standard guests reasonably expect when booking through their platform.

Based on our experience, **I would not recommend staying at Kadi's Hill of Good Hope Self-Catering**.
