Deposit for Russel Hobbs advice

I find it absolutely preposterous to be paying R380 (apparently a deposit) for advice about a defective Russel Hobbs appliance on www. Justanswer.com. If they provide advice I am obliged to forfeit the deposit? They seemingly react immediately with questions and then just disappear with a page on bank details into which the deposit for advice should be paid.
