**** Camel double ball purple or old stock?

I have bought now on two occasions(yesterday morning) two packets at my local Glenwood Spar. This mostly likely being **** Camel Double Ball Purple cigarettes, one can tell by the ghastly taste after popping the *****. It most certainly is not the usual smooth gently flavoured taste i am accustomed to. It being a superior quality brand, it is easy to tell when something is amiss. Could it be old stock or has the store been duped into buying **** stock. Has anyone else a experienced a similar experience?
