Disappointing - foam collapsed within 2 weeks and manufacturer tries to blame it on customer "weight"
Ordered a couch from Joubert Furniture after months of following them on FB. I went all the way to their showroom to test the couches, see the workmanship and choose the right fabric. My couch arrived within the time-frame given, which I was very happy about, and the couch looked beautiful. Within 2 weeks the couch started falling in on the daybed side, and the two seater side started collapsing to the side, forming lumps. I sent pictures to them, they agreed the couch needed a fix, and came to collect it. It took a while for the couch to get back, but I was happy to have it back and hopeful my issues would be fixed. Unfortunately, it was not. Within a few weeks the same issues returned, and were even worse. I took the same kind of pictures I did the first time and sent it off to them. My emails were ignored for 2 weeks, then I got a short reply saying "we are closed for the Festive Season". After they reopened I did not hear from them until I followed up several more times, and then I was told they now suddenly can't see any issues with the couch. After posting this review, the lady finally contacted me, saying they want to come and fetch the couch to "open it up and send me pictures to show that the issues are caused by weight or negligence, because it cannot be the foam or the frame". So after all this time and effort, and them initially taking responsibility for the issues, their only recourse now is to cut open my couch and try and convince to me that I caused the damage. I paid for a high density couch, which this clearly isn't. And I am now stuck with an extremely uncomfortable couch that looks like it is 20 years old, and a manufacturer who is shamelessly trying to shift blame to the customer. I will never buy from them again. After my second complaint they also blocked me on Facebook so that I could not write a review there.
