Beware of Unclear and unfair contract by Joshua Doore

<p>My mother bought couches at Joshua Doore (Acc# ********** 278) on a higher purchase contract. Her understanding was a set installment and contract. As a pensioner on a government grant , she was given an installment agreement of 36 months @ installment of bout R500/month. She decided to pay mostly double the installment but was wondering why the amount was not going down and in the shop she was getting a very poor assistance. When I finally saw her ,I was shocked to learn she is paying for additional costs that was never clarified to her meaning she is throwing her money in a well somewhere : there is an additional R48.30 Monthly fee , goods insurance R75.92, Life insurance R151.04, finance charges R79.98 ... this all amount to R355.24 ( additional amount never discussed or clarified with the pensioner)</p> <p> </p> <p>- How long will she pay for the couches considering the fact that she is paying approximately R400.00 on top of the installment</p> <p>- The call centre and the shop are unhelpful and tell us these are compulsory and part of their process.</p> <p> </p> <p>I wonder how many victims of the same tactic are out there.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
