Always check how much you have paid at Russells Randburg Branch otherwise you will beg for your money to be refunded.
I opened a lay-by account for a bed at Russells Randburg and made first payment of R100 as commitment. Today(22/12/22), I then decided to go and change the type of the bed and to make a payment of R1000. When I walked into the store, I met Gosiame Lebakeng who was the sales person when I first opened the account and I advised him of the changes that I wanted and also how much I was going to pay today. He (Gosiame Lebakeng) went on and updated in the system the type of the bed that I had now chosen, printed some documents and advised a lady by the name Malefu Manamela (according to the receipt that I have) who was sitting next to him ( Gosiame Lebakeng) to process my payment. The Lady asked me how much I was paying and I told her I would be paying R1000. she did her processes and asked me to insert the card and enter the pin which I did. she then gave me a receipt stappled with a printed invoice. I trusted the process and took the slip without checking if all was done accordingly. I went about my shopping somewhere else and as I was now paying, my card was declined. I them checked my balance only to realise that my money is gone. I quicky checked my statement only to realise that russells had taken R7794 which is the total amount of the bed including delivery services. I then quickly phoned russells randburg shop in the hope that this would be rectified easily but a well trained to be rude lady ( Malefu Manamela) answered my call, I just told her my name and the error that had happened and she went all out on me blaming and arguing that she literally asked me how much I will be paying today which according to her I advised her that I would be paying a full amount of R7794. I tried to make sense to her by asking who would lay-by a full amount? which was fruitless as it fell to deaf ears because she never gave me the chance. I then told her I need a refund of my money including my initial R100 that I paid first and she advised me that I would have to prove who I am by bringing in my ID, bank statements and receipts so I can be refunded after 7 working days.
