Clothing Prices INSANELY INFLATED

My last experience with Jonsson Workear, was at their Klerksdorp branch on Sunday 20 March 2022. I was there to buy a pair of Stretch Denims for my wedding in April. The price on the shelf showed R599. I got my color, and thought I would buy a pair another pair of Cargo Strech pants as mine was to big after losing a few kg's. To my shock the price had gone up nearly R200 in a couple of months (3 to be accurate). I put the Cargo Pants down and refused to buy them. When I came to the counter, the Stretch Denims rang at R650. I told the cashier the price is incorrect, it shows R599(R600) on the shelf. He told me it might be the Stretch Chinos that are R599, to which I said No, the chinos are R699, otherwise I would've bought them. He double checked, and I was correct. Upon our return to the till, I told him to mention to his management that their prices as borderline stupid and coming close to the price of a Levi denim nowadays, and it's not like the pants don't wear out or wash out, and 90% of my day to day clothing is Jonsson. His reply was this: " I think the prices might be going up becuase of the war in Ukraine". I stuttered then laughed. I told him that is Corporate bull****. Jonsson prouds themselves as a LOCAL COMPANY, so the would source cotton and wool LOCALLY.... We don't import sheep from Russia, we get them from the Karoo... He had no answer. (I'm not mad at the cashier, he is only doing his job, but he is being fed lies from his management, who I now believe to be nothing more that Greedy, Money hungry suits with no interest in customer service and satisfaction or sustainable business. BTW In February 2022, the Jonsson Workwear Gholf Open had a STAGERING PRIZE MONEY OF $250 000, that is R4 MILLION RAND!) Low and behold, I got discount from a lady (whom I presume was the floor manager on the day), this AFTER I bought 2 new shirts a month before, and asked for discount, but was refused by a different female employee, who I believe to be the store manager, I was refused because I don't have a business and therefore don't qualify for any loyalty cards/discounts.

So I have 2 questions.

1. Why the hell can I not qualify for discount of one occasion (I spent R700 That day, and then suddenly qualify for discount, CHEAPER that the shelf price, EVEN WHEN THE SYSTEM PRICE HAS GONE UP? I WILL be visiting this store again this week to see if they have marked up their prices on the shelves. And I WILL be leaving another reply.

2. Where are the price increases coming from Jonsson Workwear? I am at a point where I am starting to source clothing from different companies, just due to these 2 incedents.

PS - Your clothes don't last long enough to justify DOUBLE the competition's prices.
