Poor client service

I liked a pair of formal trousers but it didnt fit properly. The shop sent it for adjustments and I paid upfront. When I fitted it after the adjustments I saw that the adjustments cause the trousers look worse than what it looked like initially and that it didnt fit properly. While the dimension of the waist itself is now ok, the trousers now apear too wide at some places and too narrow at others, unlike the "look and feel" of how it was before the adjustments. It also doesnt hang straight and feels as if it may tear if I sit down quickly. I am not comfortable to wear it and didnt take it. However the shop refuses to refund me. I believe the shop should have known better and not suggested adjustments that will make clothing look worse.
