complaint against medical field

I have repeatedly spoken to Gems and am angry because we pay a fortune for years and then have to claim once and some of the accounts are rejected!<br> On the 28th November my husband had a colonoscopy, gastroscope and gall bladder removal at the age of 65 years. This is the 1st operation he has had. ON the 29th they discovered they had made a hole in the colon and he had to be rushed into theartre again. There was a big chance of colostomy bag and minor one of the repair job. The surgeon offered to write off anything that the medical aid didn't pay. We spoke to the anaesthetist about medical aid tariffs and he said they normally copy what the surgeon do.<br> I would like the medical aid to pay for the outstanding amounts eg. R3109 to St Annes hospital and the amount of R1319.80 that is owing to Kauffmann & partners. Yesterday I was threatened with handover by Refern and partners for an amount of R708.40.<br> The Fact of the the matter is that after 50 years service with the NED he gets a pension of R10433 before medical aid of R1200 taken off so you can see we do not have a lot of money!<br>
