Hi last year on the 18th of October 2018 I app**** for turffontein project managed by JOSHCO they said I will get an SMS within 2 weeks I didn't get it.This year February I went to the office to do the follow up I was told I'm not in their system I have to apply again I did on the 14th of February 2019 I receive an SMS saying I must submit my things on the 18th of February I went there to submit and the gave me a waiting slip .On the 6th of march 2019 I recieve an SMS saying I must email or bring the waiting slip I went and drop it ,in April 2019 I went to check how far was my application I was told its on management I will get an SMS soon to go a pay deposit then on the 6th of may 2019 I recieved an SMS saying I was declined when I went to the office to ask why I was declined they told me my salary is not enough although I gave them proof that I have the business I'm doing besides the job I'm doing and my son is also sending money every month they even ask him to make affidavit,payslip to proof that he is giving me money every month
JOSHCO must ensure that the people who occupy our units are earning enough according to our policy.Our mandate is to house those within the lower income brackets, but we can't take a risk in allocating a person to a unit which according to our criteria and policy would possibly make that person struggle to meet their financial obligations because of it. It is a hard job to refuse accommodation to someone in need, so when we do it is after serious consideration and looking at the various possibilities.
