Disrespectful Service from Start to Finish

My parents visited John Dory’s Vredenburg this afternoon, and unfortunately their experience was extremely disappointing. After being seated, they had to wait quite some time before anyone came to assist them. When the waitress eventually arrived, she didn’t even bring menus. While taking their drink order, she seemed far more interested in conversations happening elsewhere than in serving her customers. My mother asked for a menu because she wanted to order sushi, and the waitress responded by asking, “Is it going to be long?” My mother was completely taken aback by the rude and dismissive attitude. My father rep**** that they intended ordering quite a lot of sushi because he was hungry, but by that point the poor service had already ruined the experience. They decided to leave without ordering. On their way out, my mother politely explained to the staff member who had seated them that they were leaving because of the poor service. Instead of apologizing or showing any concern, the staff member laughed in her face. Excellent food means very little when customers are treated with such disrespect. This level of customer service is unacceptable, and it’s disappointing to see staff showing so little professionalism or courtesy. I hope management addresses this with the team, as no customer should be made to feel unwelcome or laughed at for raising a genuine concern.
