Trainee waitron on Sunday

Sunday, 5 June 2016, my wife and three children opted to go to John Dory's Gateway, instead of Col Cacchio next door. We ordered starters and three kids meals. The mussel pot starter was quite filling, so I asked the waitron to cancel one of the two Calamari mains that was ordered. She claimed that the order was put through and could not be cancelled. About fifteen minutes later, we requested the mains and she rep**** that it would be between 7 to 10 minutes. When it did arrive the calamari tubes were chewy and luke warm. The tenticles were over-cooked and shrivelled up. My wife's Savannah was left at the table with the cap still on, making the experience even more regretful. As a chef, I think trainee waitrons should be kept to Monday shifts and not busy week-ends. My R600 bill left a sour taste for further visits to John Dory's. I regret leaving a tip as well.

Hi Yatish,

Thank you for sharing your recent John Dory's experience with us. We are concerned to read that you felt the money spent on your visit was not worthwhile. Please allow us to share your concerns with the owner/operator of the Gateway John Dory's so that it can be internally investigated, addressed and feedback provided to you.

We appreciate you giving us the opportunity to assist you,

Kind regards
