Extremely Disappointed — Poor Food, Poor Service, No Follow-Up
I had a terrible experience at John Dory’s Northgate. The butter garlic sauce was watery and tasteless, the hake and chips were dry and hard, the tomato sauce was **** but served in an All Gold bottle, and there were no toothpicks available.
I was in Northriding that day running errands and, after a long day, decided to sit down for a late lunch/dinner with my friend. After lodging a complaint, Ayanda, the manager on the day, said he’d send a voucher, but it took three days for him to respond and he went silent after I rep****.
The Glen Shopping Centre would have been far more practical for us, but I was told it was either Northgate or Greenstone. Later, the “solution” offered was for us to drive all the way to Greenstone for a meal worth around R130 — which makes no sense considering petrol costs.
To make matters worse, a customer care rep emailed asking for a suitable time and date to contact me. I responded clearly, but no one followed up.
This isn’t about the voucher — it’s about accountability and genuine customer care. This has been handled very poorly, and I expected much better from John Dory’s.
