The job was to WATERPROOF AND PAINT ROOF AND BOUNDARY WALLS. I asked him will he be at my home to supervise and he said yes. 90% of the time he would drop off his team tell them what needs to be done and would leave and return at the end of the day or on occasions he would come briefly to check how they were doing. I would point out to him what I was not happy with and he would rush his team to fix the problem. At most of the time I felt that I supervised them. Once he had completed the job and left my property I found that on close inspection his workmanship was shoddy as the screeding was not smooth and that the splash from painting the roof is on my paving as well as on my tiled balcony which is now permanently stained.

The start date was 16th of May 2022 and completion date the 25th of May 2022. His quotation amount was R31 500 I paid a 60% deposit R18 900 Bal Of 40% on completion that should’ve been R12 600 but in error I paid R18 750 all into his banking account. Therefore I overpaid him R 6 150 Plus a little piece of wall that was not quoted of R150 cash Total of overpayment R6 300

I requested a refund of R6300 and advised him that I will be taking legal action should he fail to refund me by 22nd of June 2022 all via email and WhatsApp as this is how we were communicating. He acknowledged the WhatsApp and agreed to all of the above and to pay me back R6 000 which I responded the refund amount is R6300.

I have not heard from him since the 17th of June 2022.
