Sell defective parts

DEFECTIVE OIL PUMP SUPP**** – REFUSAL TO REPLACE

We purchased an oil pump from this supplier for an engine repair.

While assembling the engine, before the engine was started, we discovered that the gears inside the oil pump were not turning. This means the oil pump would not have circulated oil through the engine.

Had we not identified the problem during assembly, the engine could have been started without proper oil circulation, potentially resulting in major and extremely costly engine damage.

We immediately raised the issue with the supplier and requested a replacement. However, instead of addressing the actual mechanical defect, the supplier refused the replacement based on scratches/marks on the oil pump.

Our concern is not about cosmetic marks. The critical issue is that the oil pump gears do not operate.

As a professional workshop, we find it extremely concerning that a supplier would focus on minor cosmetic marks while disregarding a serious functional defect that could have resulted in catastrophic engine failure.

We purchased the part expecting a functional and fit-for-purpose component. We are requesting that the supplier take responsibility for the defective component and replace it with a properly functioning oil pump.

We are sharing this experience to warn other workshops and customers to carefully inspect components supp**** by this company before installation.
