METER READING

On Saturday 09 September my neighbour telephonically contacted me to inform me that there was a person outside my gate, advising that he was there to take electricity readings. We were unfortunately not home, they however advised that they will not be returning the following week for readings and climbed over the palisade fencing to take the readings.

I find the behaviour totally unacceptable since no note was left in my mailbox advising that they would be taking the readings on the particular day. Furthermore note that it is stated on my monthly bill that the next meter reading date would have occurred on 18 September 2017 and I diarise accordingly to phone in and provide the reading on the particular day.

Above leaves me wondering: - what the correct date for meter readings in my area is and – since when do meter reading personal climbed over fences to obtain readings ?
