Exploitative and bully attitude

<p>Between 2012 and 2015 I was renting in apartments owned by Johannesburg Housing Company and during my stay in there I had 3 separate incidence on which I felt i was treated with contempt and victimised as a tennant. </p> <p>1. First incident was when i complained about electricity bill which is paid separately from rent. The bill continuously increased from 4000 to more than 1000 a month on top of rent over a period of 4 months. When I tried to speak to them I was dismissed and told that I am doing washing with hot water and that switching the geyser on and off consumes more electicity. When I tried to reason wikth them they kept on blocking me to a point where I decided to just leave them and when I tried to contact mangement no one responded.</p> <p> </p> <p>2. second one was when their failty gate banged my car while I was trying to come out. When I reported the incident I was told that they dont deal with tennants they deal with insurances and that they will investigate. When I tried to make a follow up I was told that i was at fault because i did not come out at the centre or middle of the gate but to the far right of it.</p> <p> </p> <p>3. Last one was when I wanted to leave I was told that I need to paint the walls even though the were made dirty by the geyser burst from the top unit and water will leak to our sealing and walls and as a result our walls would have rust dripping water marks and moulding stains. I decided to paint because I know how they are and I asked them what colour and paint type should I use, They told me that it should be the same as before. After painting I was told that I should have used a different type and that they will dock the money from my deposit and there will benocredit for my work and expeses.</p> <p> </p> <p>I am weitting to warn all the prospective tennants to be aware and stay there at their own peril. </p>
