NO GO JHB Botanical Gardens ... will never recommend this place!

We were very disappointed yesterday when we went to the Botanical Gardens. The Gardens were not taken care of and neglected. The place was filthy dirty and the rose gardens was dried out and also there were *******, toilet paper and leaves all over the place. The other gardens especially the ones with the greek statues are also neglected. The fountains and ponds are all empty/ dried up and in bad condition. When we asked the staff what was going on then they said that the ponds and fountains taps were closed and has been like that for the past six months and then the security staff at the gate wanted us to bribe them, because we wanted to take pictures as a couple and are not allowed, but you are allowed to take pictures as a family and of the nature ... does that make sense? They wanted us to buy them cold drinks. No were does it state that you have to get permission to take pictures and that the fountains and ponds are empty. Really disappointed and will never recommend this place to anyone. The Botanical Gardens in Roodepoort is much beter. This place does not even deserve one star .... bad bad bad ....
