Factory fault item and they refuse refund

I’m at four ways mall jockey shop. My problem with the item I bought and find a factory fault on it which they also confirm. I’ve requested for a refund. They refused with a refund they say I must go to the same shop where i got the item and which is mynlain mall. I don’t understand why I have to be taken pillar to post whilst the same shop. Items where for David Tlale product.
