Worst OB/GYN EVER

1) This doctor has the worst bedside manner of all. He is uncooperative and will not share any of your medical results or tests unless you specifically ask for it. He does not propose any solutions to your medical concerns and basically just sits there and nods. 2) First I went in for a PAP Smear procedure, a general procedure that is paid for by the medical aid. This doctor went outside the scope of that procedure without informing me, and proceeded to charge me almost R4000 for a check-up. Then, when I fell pregnant and went for a confirmation scan, he again went outside of Medical Aid procedures (even though my maternity benefit was activated) and charged me cash for a procedure that he never discussed with me. When I went for my 12-week scan, he did the same again. Despite having phoned in earlier that same week with all the Medical Aid quotes and stipulating that I wanted nothing more than the general Medical Aid procedure done. I was promised that the scan results and bloodtest results would be emailed to me directly, so I didn't take any pictures of that very emotional first and second scan. I am yet to receive any of the results or images - even though I paid for the first scan cash. 3) With my original PAP Smear procedure, the doctor requested R3000's worth of screening blood tests to be performed, including an HIV test, bloodtype test (even though I told him what my bloodtype was), etc. I accepted it and paid for the tests, cash. When I went in for the second time (3 months later), he requested the EXACT SAME blood tests, without having even discussed the results with me the first time. How does one's bloodtype change in 3 months? 4) The reception lady (ironically named Patience) is rude and self-serving. Their accounts person (Veruschka) is actually really nice and goes out of her way to help, but that's hardly nice when you have to phone the medical aid to ensure you get the RIGHT codes for procedures (They refuse to do it). 5) I have read several reports now that say Dr. Moloi has a reputation for charging patience cash for procedures that the medical aid won't pay for, without actually performing the procedure. This is called ATM ********. 6) I chose Dr. Moloi initially because he says he deals with "high risk pregnancies". However, when it came to managing my Diabetes while being pregnant, he was not useful at all - to the point where I ended up in the ER unit one night with extremely low blood sugar levels. I subsequently saw a GP (not a specialist, like Dr. Moloi) that helped me manage my sugar during pregnancy better, but also sorted out some spotting that I had been experiencing (Dr. Moloi - do you know how scary it is for a high-risk pregnancy mother to experience non-stop spotting in her first trimester?!!!) with simple bed rest and an asprin. The GP was very helpful in explaining what was normal, what was not and what I could expect in the future.

My advice? If you want a transparent, trustworthy OB/GYN that partners with you in your high-risk pregnancy and helps you to understand risks, benefits and procedures AVOID DR.MOLOI AT ALL COSTS. In fact, just avoid him completely.
