Dishonesty and exorbitant rates

My son (Johan van Rensburg) pronates extensively and phoned the reception of "The POD Practice" in November asking what the indicative costs are for inner soles, as the pair he is currently using is more than 5 years old. He was told that? 1. R500, for the consultation and 2. R700 a pair

He only has a hospital plan and the R1200 fits well within his budget.

He just came back from the consultation with them, and the numbers look very different. Which is VERY disturbing. 1. Initial consultation for 15 minutes = R550 2. The quote provided indicate; a. 01st Consultation and associated activities = R1276 b. 02nd Consultation and associated activities = R987 c. 03rd consultation and associated activities = R1648

A few points 1. The original information provided was R1200, and after seeing them it evolved to R4461. 2. This is a 73% increase on the original estimate provided, which is ******** 3. He paid you R550 for 15 minute consultation which translates to R2200 an hour. This is a very high rate for just providing a standard quote with no specialisation required.

We just spoke to his previous doctor who is unfortunately no longer in Pretoria and he confirmed that it will be no more than R2600 for the same as what "thepodparctice" quoted. He is now based in Nelspruit and I will rather let Johan drive to Nelspruit that be ******ed by them.
