False advertising
On Saturday 9 March 2019 we were at the Gateway Theatre of shopping and decided to get a meal using the Entertainer app. We looked at the options within the mall and came across Jimmy's ****er Prawns. We then looked at the menu on the entertainer, decided on what we would like to eat and then made our way to the restaurant.
We ordered a cheesy garlic bread starter and then the solo seafood platter and a half chicken. The fish was served to us burnt and we asked for it to be replaced.
After our meal, when we requested the bill, we informed the waitron that we will be using the Entertainer. The waitron went to ring up our bill but returned empty handed saying that platters and combos are not valid for discount with the Entertainer.
She then called the manager, Nazneem who was of no help at all. She preached to me that the matter of platters and combos is stated in the terms and conditions of the Entertainer. I proceeded to show her that there is nothing stated and she insisted that there is a disclaimer. She then moved away to make a call and returned. She clicked on my app to redeem the voucher (as if we were using the voucher to pay) and there it says that combos and platters are discounted.
This is ridiculous! That disclaimer is only stated at the option where you pay. By which part the customer has already ordered and eaten their meal. On the Entertainer app, Jimmy's advertised a vast menu and nowhere does it say that all those meals are not legible for the discount.
We combed through the menu thoroughly before even walking to the restaurant. The only reason we went to Jimmy's was for variety (all lies actually) that was available to us. False advertising is *******.
The restaurant has massive disclaimers pasted on their doors securing their liability but nowhere do they show any notice that their is a limited menu with the Entertainer. What does that say about their customer service. The waitron did not even verbally inform us that their was a limited menu.
If I had gone to eat at Jimmy's with a limited budget, knowing that I could use the Entertainer and then found out that I had to pay full price, was I supposed to return the food from my belly?
The Manager, who clearly does not know customer service, has the arrogance to say that she does not want us to leave unhappy yet she does nothing to MANAGE the issue. She insists that the advertised menu is a "misprint" on the Entertainer. We know consumer rights on the misprint.
After eating my meal and then dealing with such terrible restaurant management, I feel disgusted for having dined at such a dishonest establishment that relies on entrapment for business.
