No care for your small businesses in your dead shopping centres

I am a small business owner and would like to make people aware - even though I see its not just me from other comments - that JHI is a terrible leasing company. We have been renting our shop in a dying small shopping complex in Hazyview Mpumulanga since July of 2018. Recently - last year August, the communal water usage has been increasing sharply on a monthly basis. I brought this to JHIs attention as we could not afford a R7 - 8000 water bill on top of our shop rent and other utilities. I was advised that they are investigating.... this is since last year October after I kicked up a fuss. I then informed them that as from January we cannot pay the ridiculous amount and will pay the shop rental and our shops actual water usage - water comes to roughly R500 per month however total bill on water comes to total of roughly R8000.

We have had no revenue for the Lock Down yet our invoice arrives and our water bill and electricity bill for April totals at R10000 .... how the hell is this right?? We asked for relief due to no income and I was advised as follows:-

Please find the attached letter for your attention regarding a rental reprieve. Take note that the Landlord will only look at requests where the rentals are paid in full up to the end of March. Your statement is attached and your lease as requested. Please be advised that your are responsible for prorate water as per your lease and as such you are responsible for the water being billed. You can have a meter installed but it will be for your cost and the meter will need to be commissioned by the contractor installing the meter.

So our bill is not up to date as they were meant to be investigating the ridiculous water charges so we do not qualify. How is this fare.

The shopping Centre is a dead centre and no care or maintenance has been done unless i HAVE KICKED UP A FUSS ABOUT IT.

So JHI, you mistreat and ***** from small business owners in the one shopping centre you have barely any tenants in as is.

Disgusting and outright unfair.
