JHB North Plumbing Maintenance trades from 917 Florin Rd, Strubens Valley Roodepoort. The agent that manages our property called them out to repair a leaking 50mm PVC bend on a pipe that is surface mounted on an exterior wall of our house. Cost of call out R402.50, to replace the part R632.50. The PVC bend only costs under R8.00. The invoice amounted to R1 035.00. The bend was probably a standard bend kept on his bakkie as most plumbers do. There are also various plumbing outlets around our house in Douglasdale. I don't believe the work would have taken anything longer than 15 minutes as it was merely clipping out the old leaking bend and pushing in and gluing the new bend. What is annoying and a total ******* is that they charge an amount of R402.50 which you have to pay for the call out fee to quote, whether you accept the quote or not. Not even a 30 second inspection to identify problem. Pity we can't post pictures. Please be careful and avoid the ******* contractors out there.
