Unreliable unprofessional movers
We moved from Centurion in Gauteng to Graaff Reinet in the Eastern Cape. Our furniture and boxes were fetched by JH Retief on 7 and 8 October 2021. Then it was stored at their Johannesburg warehouse and delivered to our new home in Graaff Reinet on 25 October. Not all our belongings were delivered. Since then we are trying to locate our items not delivered. We contacted them on several occasions. We also asked "Beeld-tot-u-diens to help us. It is now 13 December 2021 and we don't get any answer from them. Will you be able to assist us. Herewith a summary of all the dates and names and numbers which we have contacted. We moved from Centurion in Gauteng to Graaff Reinet, Eastern Cape in October 2021 with the firm JH Retief Removals. Not all our belongings were delivered and need your help to locate our undelivered items.
We have tried on numerous occasions to get an answer from them, but until todays date, we don’t know what happened to our belongings.
1. Our belongings in our house in Centurion was loaded on 7 & 8 October 2021. 2. It was stored at the JH Retief premises in Johannesburg until Monday, 25 October 2021 when it was unloaded at our house in Graaff Reinet. 3. Immediately, we noticed there were items not unloaded which we noted on the delivery note. It was mentioned to us that we have 7 days to report on any other items or on any damage. 4. On Thursday, 28 October 2001, we corresponded telephonically with Me Dané Erasmus (E-mail: ***, Cell no: ***) regarding the lost items and confirmed our request by email. 5. Dané rep**** that she will report our request for investigation. 6. On 3 November we required again because until that date we had no reply from neither JH Retief nor Dané. 7. Dané rep**** that she gave our enquiry through to Head Office in Cape Town and that she is still waiting for their reply. 8. On 8 November we again phoned Dané and she gave us the name of Mr Kevin Smit in Cape Town to contact. 9. We phoned and e-mailed Mr Kevin Smit (Tel: ***, E-mail: ***). He said that he knew nothing about our undelivered items but will investigate. 10. On 15 November we again contacted Mr Smit. 11. On 16 November he apologised for not answering us. 12. On 19 November we again enquired. 13. He rep**** (on 19 November as well) that the crew will only be back in Cape Town on Monday, 22 November 2021. What did this mean? He could contact them telephonically or he could contact the storeroom telephonically? Why did he have to wait until they are back in Cape Town? 14. That was the last we heard from Mr Smit. 15. On Monday, 27 November we emailed “Beeld-tot-u-diens” to help us. 16. Until today Friday, 10 December 2021, we have not heard by phone or by e-mail from Beeld nor from JH Retief Transport with any feedback. 16. Could you please assist us in finding our lost property?
Regards Jan and Alta Coetzee Cell: ***
