JETMASTERS SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE

I purchased a Jestmaster gas pizza oven from Highway Gas in Hillcrest KZN at the time under the impression that they were agents for the products (why else would they beable to purchase and sell Jestmaster products)

As we are building, the unit stood in storage in its bubble wrap and wooden crate until tuesday 13th September

2016 when it was opened - firstly it was badly damaged and secondly the oven had a black frame which does not appear on any pictures if you google Jetmaster pizza oven. I had built a slab and was expecting a counter top oven as per all pics seen on the internet of this product.

My first call was Mike Green at Highway Gas who is not returning my calls- I have since heard that most of their staff have left so I am not sure if this business is still operating?

My second call was to Jestmaster direct, here is where the story starts.

I sent through picture of the damaged unit aswell as the fact that it arrived on a black frame which was not shown on any picture or their website specifications. explaining the situation, here is their reply:

Hi Leanne,

I’ve just had a word with my MD regarding this matter.

Unfortunately there isn’t anything we can do, as we sold/ supp**** the units to highway gas last year and early this year. We supply all our units to client in showroom condition, so damages done to the unit was caused by highway gas or their transportation.

The only thing we can recommend is that you purchase a touch up paint for the unit.

I understand that highway gas has closed down, so I’m not sure who you can contact.

Unfortunately we are not able to help though as the unit was not purchased from us.

Please contact my MD if you would like any further explanations regarding this.
Reinhard – **********

Jetmaster is happy to make a sale to a non-agent in KZN but then takes no responsiblity for a damaged unit, surely as the main supplier ther is some liability? Especially in a case where the company they sold their product to has now closed down? Do I the client have no rights against them and their faulty misrepresented product.

When I received this email I phoned their MD Reinhard, I was told two things:

firstly Jetmaster will not take any responsiblity for this damaged, incorrdctly supp**** item as I didnt buy it from them but you see from their email they sold it to Highway gas a non-agent-and secondly that he does not feel it is wrong that Jetmasters web site does not reflect the Pizza oven with its black frame for customers buying over the web to be aware of. I was told I should have asked them how this unit was to be installed? Really ALL your pictures show a table top counter top looking unit- that is what I expected to receive.

Even under their specifications there is no mention of the black frame or a picture just dimensions.

I have paid R17000.00 for a damaged unit that looks second hand and that doesnt suite my application which is to be fitted on a counter top and Reinhard fromJetmaster will not assist in any way other than I was told I can transport it back to them they will repair it and I must foot the bill!!!!

Shocking shocking customer service from the very top- THE MD has this attitude so this represents clearly the ethics of this company.
