Jetmaster's recommended subcontractor ran away with my payment.
I moved into a new house that had a jet master. It shot a gas ball out that burnt the hair off my hand and eyebrow. I phoned the manufacturer JetMaster and Dwayne a sales consultant Recommended David Adonis, as a preferred installer. He inspected the gas Fire place and told me I needed to buy a replacement gas unit at a cost of R8000 and a 30 day lead time. In the meantime he put a demo unit in. I thought David was an honorable man so I paid him.
The demo unit lasted less then a week before it stopped working after spectacularly sending a fireball past my wife's head. I was out the country when this happened. Unable to get the replacement gas unit due to the 30 days lead time, an due to the obvious safety concerns regarding this gas fire place, I was left no choice but cancel the jet master gas unit and get another supplier to break out the fireplace to install a wood combustion fire place as my wife and children where literally freezing in our south facing home.
David said that he understood that I was left with no choice but to cancel the gas unit as it would take a further 3 weeks to be delivered and assured me that he would refund my payment.
David has on numerous occasions told me that the refund has been EFT to my account. JetMaster continue to recommend David Adonis as a preferred supplier and installer of their product. I believe that David Adonis used to be an employee of Jetmaster and is a preferred supplier. I have spoken to Dwayne in the last week and he was shocked to hear of what has happened and said he would get back to me. David is still Jetmaster's preferred supplier and I would like my refund. I am extremely disappointed with Jetmaster, the safety of their gas units and the subcontractors that they recommend to install their products.
