Shocking Service and Delivery

On 7 December my elderly mothers garage door stopped working, we phoned Jenricks doors who claim to have 38 years of experience in the field. After an inspection we were told the springs on the roll up door needed replacing, but were advised its best to replace the entire door. An invoice was received on 9 December 2016 for the total amount with a deposit of 65% required to proceed with the new door purchase and installation, with a promise to install on the 9th of December.

Payment was made by us and that's when we started the frustrating experience with Jenricks. since the 9 December 2016 - Almost daily - including public holiday weekend of 16th and 17th of December although not on Christmas (It’s the 3rd of January 2017 at the time of writing this review) we have had promises that the installation will be made, even over the public holiday weekend we were assured the team would work. They never showed up.

Eventually on 20 December, after threatening to go to Hello Peter as we felt we were in danger of losing our money, we were again promised they would arrive and work late. It would take around 2 hours. Then it turned out they would only arrive after 6pm - in a thunderstorm? I’m sorry something is grossly wrong here! So we made an arrangement (once again) for Wednesday 21st. The team DID turn up on the 21st - 1 and ½ weeks late, and umpteen phone calls and false promises later. They worked on the door all day, (What happened to the 2 hour estimate?) they also had to return the next day for another full day on the door, which started to get us concerned. How long should a door installation take? Eventually we told Jenricks on 23 December that we needed an inspection by an independent party as this was ridiculous and we are concerned they are damaging the new door and the existing motor.

The result of the inspection - the door is missing one bracket - so its hanging skew (note this is after 2 full days, not the promised 2 hours) the tracks are installed too wide for the door - so the door wont be able to move up and down smoothly without moving out of the tracks. The door dow not move! And to top it off, they are trying to install the motor on a door that is not yet moving! The motor is hanging at an angle - who knows whether that is because its half installed or because the door is skew. It seems they do not know what they are doing.

We have tried to phone, sent emails, sms etc offering a few alternatives on the way forward, but still they cant be bothered in replying to the email. Today they promised to arrive and look, but so far there are only more excuses that “the staff didn’t turn up today” (3 January 2017) so the manager cant come inspect himself. What is this company? Is this real?
