Poor Greenhouse tunnel service

Tunnel review

We contacted JC distribution services last year in regards to manufacturing and installation of a greenhouse tunnel.

After numerous discussion about our conditions in the Western Cape, Johan assured us that he is competent for this task. He claimed to have built over 500 tunnels, completed projects in PE (the windy city) and that his wife also has over 20 tunnels herself that he has built and that operates successfully.

Upon arrival to our site, things just went wrong from the get go. The “team” has never installed a tunnel, although we were assured the specialists team from PE will be present. He got random staff from cape town.

He could not make the holes for the poles to be planted, although we asked him before hand if he could. So we hired a drill machine to assist him. All the poles were planted skew and completely out of line. The measurements were not even done properly so the sizes differed from section to section)

He could not install the tunnel plastic because of the wind (we had spoken about this, he assured us that if they can do it in PE, he can do it for us)

He promised us galvanized framework, he used normal untreated steel and several of the welds were done so poorly that they have broken.

I gave them a cottage to stay in for their comfort, it was left in a complete ***sty. He left the people on my property, while he himself left for Gauteng. He denied that tools were ****** from my site (which I found in Mitchell’s Plain and had to courier back to me as I had rented it)

After struggling the whole week we agreed that he would leave the material for us and refund an amount to justify the incompletion of the project. After giving his word and numerous promises to pay, none of this has happened.

I would not recommend doing business with Johan or JC distribution services.
