My Experience with eQuesse / Jay Wainer I am sharing this review based solely on my own personal experience and dealings with Jay Wainer and eQuesse. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and became a very stressful situation for me as a small business owner and contractor. During our business dealings, I supp**** and arranged work and also introduced Jay to people working with and for my business, including my carpenter. After I introduced my carpenter, she later approached him directly to do work for her. From my personal experience, this placed me in an uncomfortable position, especially considering that I was the person who introduced the contractor to her in the first place. I also experienced repeated requests for discounts and reduced prices. In my dealings, it often felt as though the original price was questioned and further discounts were expected. I believe contractors and small businesses should be very careful to make sure that their prices, quotations, scope of work and payment arrangements are agreed upon clearly and in writing before work begins. My experience was that the working relationship became increasingly difficult when it came to expectations, costs and resolving disagreements. Matters that I believed had been discussed and agreed upon later became disputed, which resulted in a stressful and time-consuming situation. What made the experience particularly difficult for me was that I had already invested time, money, materials and labour into the work and arrangements connected to our dealings. Small businesses and contractors often have significant costs before and during a project, and changes or disputes after work has been completed can have serious financial consequences. I also feel it is important for contractors and suppliers to protect their working relationships with their employees and subcontractors. My experience taught me that when you introduce a client to members of your team or to contractors you work with, it is important to have clear boundaries and agreements in place regarding future work and direct arrangements. I am not sharing this review to make personal accusations or to tell anyone what decision they should make. I am simply sharing my own experience and the lessons I learned from dealing with this situation. My advice to anyone considering entering into a business arrangement would be to make sure that: • Every quotation is detailed and accepted in writing. • Any discounts are clearly recorded. • Changes to the original work are confirmed in writing before additional work starts. • Deposits and payments are properly recorded. • The scope of work and expected outcome are clearly agreed upon. • Any person introduced through another contractor or business relationship is dealt with transparently and professionally. • Contractors and suppliers protect themselves by keeping all messages, quotations, invoices, photographs and proof of payment. Based on my personal experience, I would personally be very cautious about entering into another business arrangement with Jay Wainer or eQuesse. This review reflects my own experience, opinion and the way I experienced our business dealings. Others may have different experiences, but mine was unfortunately not positive, and the situation caused me considerable stress and financial concern.
