CONNED BY JACQUES ERASMUS - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MAN

<p>On 25 April I have responded to a Gumtree ad advertising a 2017 Kia Picanto available for long term rental THE installment was R4500m per month aswell as R5500 deposit. After I negotiated to pay 50% of the deposit now and the remainder end of April a car was delivered to my apartment in Stellenbosch. The car delivered was not the 2017 Kia Picanto but rather a VW Polo. I was advised that the Picanto will be available after a few days. Upon delivering a different car I paid the amount of R7250 and the keys was handed over. After 4 days I was contacted to let me know that the Picanto will now be delivered. It was during this time where we also discussed a Rent to Own option for me and that it is being looked into. I drove this car for about 3-4 days when I was once again contacted to let me know that He (Jacques) is experiencing problems with his supplier and mthat another car will be delivered to me - also a Picanto. So just over a week into my "long Term Rental" a third car was delivered. This Kia Picanto was not a 2017 model as advertised, had no electrical windows as advertised, No central locking and not even an authentic Kia radio. As Jacques assured me that a Rent to Own is being looked into for me I did not mind driving this car for a couple of days although now I got a bit sceptical. After 3 weeks of driving this car I was contacted by the security department at my place of work informing me that a rental company was looking for Jacques erasmus. I found this very weird but contacted Carl from extreme Car rental. It turned out that Jacques Erasmus has rented this car from them but that the vehicle is now unpaid and that they will be collecting the vehicle. This is where it all started... Extreme Car Rental had no idea who I was and I had no idea who they are as my dealings was with Jacques only. I had to clear the car from my personal belongings and off they went. My name was never registered as a second driver on their contract and Extreme had no idea that Jacques is operating a long term Rental business subletting cars to clients without even registering them as co-drivers. Subletting is illeagal in this case and the fact that I have been driving around uninsured made me very worried. There could have been big trouble if the car got ****** or I was involved in an accident. I was furious and Jacques promised me that by 5pm when I have to leave work, a replacement vehicle would be ready. Needless to say - after numerous calls and messaging - Jacques was unable to assist me with a car that eveining but he promises he will have one the next day. I got home at 9pm - 4 hours later with no car. The next day he chose to ignore most of my calls - sending me a sms 10 minutes to 5 saying that he tried everything - but no car is available. I then demanded he brings me my paid deposit and remainder of the monthly installment (6 days) I have paid as I need money to get to and from work and have other plans I made where I would need the car I have paid for. He promised me that by that evening he will pay me the R3500 he owes me but he has to try and arrange money as he has cash flow problems. That evening - no refund. I sort of felt sorry for the guy and said that he could pay em R1k and the rest on Tuesday the 25th as that is when he said clients will start paying. He paid me the amount of R500 on the Sunday and since then -a whole lot of promises and Im still waiting for my money. He ignores my calls and messages (deleted me off whatsapp). He lies to his clients, illeagaly sub lets cars and takes your money but does not supply you with the service you paid for. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN AS HE IS UNPROFESSIONAL AND NOT TRUSTWOTHY. I am now in the process of making a ***** case against him and will also follow up with a civil case. I have spent more than R1400 on Uber in less than a week getting to work and appointments, I was late for work twice and Im still waiting for money which is being witheld *******ly. He also never provided me with a copy of the initial contract I signed and he is also witholding information on his business. All this to cover up him dishonest tracks. STAY AWAY. </p>
