I lost my hard earned money because of poor record keeping

Good Evening

I went to Jack's Paint & Hardware at President hyper Square in Krugersdorp, in which I did my layby. A month later I went back to the shop to make a payment, unfortunately I couldn't get help with the payment because I didn't have my previous receipt .I was assisted by the gentleman named Ab who told me that although he can remember the transaction unfortunately he wont be able to assist me as they rely on the customers receipts for record.
