Don't frequent this establishment - client service is not existent

We were driving and happen to be at the Caltex garage in Betty's Bay. We went inside the shop and asked if they served coffee. At that point the petrol attendant Marco directed us to Jack's for coffee. I asked him if they were open as it is New Years and he said yes.

As we entered the establishment the outside blackboard showed they were open. Two waiters were about to hand us menu's as we said we only wanted coffee. They then asked how many tables and I said not sure. At this point the owner Laura Brown said no we are not serving large groups we are going to close now and the staff needs to get home. I then said you can give us take away we wont need to sit down. Laura then said no then I have to make all the drinks and still have to cash up.

I find it strange because the restaurant/coffee shop still had quite a bit of people in the place. When probing as to why we would not be served Laura's attitude became all stroppy and heightened. We asked if we could then possibly use the rest room to which she rep**** no you need to first purchase something. We then said but we want to buy coffee but you are not wanting to serve us.

Needless to say when probed Laura was not able to substantiate her responses and emotions got heightened. This, to a point, where she literally shouted at my 5 year old daughter to "get out" and then again to all of us "get out of my shop".

As we left the place, I saw how quickly David removed the we are open blackboard sign.

I wish for you to not treat any other person entering your restaurant with the same disdain and dis-courteousness we have received. The colour of my skin should not define the service in this case lack of service my family and I received. Ultimately we pay for services in the same currency.
