STAY AWAY

Purchased a Jackery Explorer 500 at considerable costs thinking it would be a superior product. The initial service in dealing with them asking for pin connection sizes was abysmal. We were told that another company was fully aware of this and referred us to them, only to find out nobody knew anything about the pin sizes and what we could find in the country. The product is based on US connections. We also asked how to preserve the lifespan of the product and were told we should leave it plugged in and fully charged when not in use. A per the guidance from the sales team and also Jackery instruction documents it sat on the kitchen counter and we used it when we needed to. The unit was off when not in use and then turned on for use. 18 MONTHS and the unit wouldn't hold charge. We sent it into Jackery under warranty to be told that the batteries had gone and they wouldn't fix it. We could get the batteries replaced for an additional R6k. Many other products available at more affordable prices that will certainly last the time that the warranty is in place and longer. These packs should last more than 18 months as per the reputation they claim to have on reliability. Overall experience very bad.
