Review for Jackals dream

Jackals Dream is a very beautiful home, perfect for relaxing and being one with nature. We had plenty visitors from different types of animals which was a great treat. However, we could only enjoy this tranquility after the realization that the air hostess had not been expecting us regardless of our booking. The home was not at an airbnb level at all. These were our findings: Patio/pool area 1. The patio was covered in leaves, sand and spiders' webs. 2.The braai area not cleaned and noticeably not being used in months. 3.The pool was green with sunken leaves.

We were told that it had been raining, hence the state of the patio and the house had been cleaned in the morning. We later were informed by a source who has constant views of the home that there hadn't been anyone in/at the house in a week. They tried to help with the pool but said it was too dirty to assist

Inside 1. Kitchen and living room covered in dust. Fingerprints were seen on bar stools and counter 2. Spider webs on hanging lamps 3. Brown dirty toilet water 4. Not enough towels for the 4 bedrooms 5. No shampoo, soap, toilet paper (soaps were provided the next afternoon with extra towels) 6. Bugs and years of dust on the mosquito nets 7. Bugs found in the linen

We spent the first night cleaning the house whilst communicating with the owner and air hostess who were denying any allegations even with evidence. We were further guilt tripped and gaslit into giving good reviews.

We advise that in the future people take accountability for their mistakes instead of shifting blame where it obviously doesn't lie. Our trip was almost ruined by unprofessional airbnb hosts but we managed to move over the hurdle and have a great time at Jackals Dream. There are pictures on my Facebook and TikTok page . We want half of the money we paid as we did the cleaning ourselves.
