Terrible Service and Rude course manager

<p>Teed off at 12:44 the last available time at Jackal creek golf course.</p> <p> </p> <p>The rate of play was excruciatingly slow, finished hole 13 at 5:00 pm meaning that we still had to complete 5 holes in 41 minutes as sunset in Johannesburg for July 30 was 5:41.</p> <p> </p> <p>We phoned the clubhouse twice between 4pm and 5 pm to send a marshal to encourage rate of play both times the promise was made that someone would come out to encourage faster play, this did not happen infact throughout the day we did not see a single marshal on the course, hence the necessity to phone the pro shop.</p> <p>At hole 14 tee box there were 8 players bunched up not having teed off yet. Meaning that two groups of 4 still had to complete the hole then it would be our turn.</p> <p> </p> <p>Being frustrated we left to find a marshal who then promptly told us he (Kevin) could not help the situation as the sun had not officially yet set ?????? So explaining to Kevin that we would not be close to finishing in time made no difference, he just advised us to phone the course manager Ashleigh.</p> <p> </p> <p>I explained to Ashleigh the situation as described above he then said he would phone the marshal and find out wat is going on and call back. 20 minutes passed and I decided to call Ashleigh back myself.</p> <p> </p> <p>Upon answering his phone it felt like i was transported to my principles office and i had done something extremely naughty. The manner with which he spoke to me i realized that this man clearly couldn’t care whether we as paying customers were happy with service or not. We would have accepted to play the remaining 5 holes the following day.</p> <p> </p> <p>There is something called patience as people who play golf virtually every weekend we realize that, then there is a lack of common sense which was clearly lacking from this manager. At the rate we were going a simple math calculation would tell you that we would have finished at 7pm when absolutely no sun light would have been left. Playing golf with light is hard enough I am not yet on a s**** level where I would excel in the dark.</p> <p> </p> <p>If you don’t want people to tee off that late for fear of not finishing then don’t let them book and pay for the spot, they are more than willing to accept your payment just not willing to help when a problem arises. If i can give anyone advise playing Jackal creek book early it’s going to be a long day.</p> <p> </p> <p>Thanks for ruining my Saturday and wasting my hard earned money.</p>
