Absolute ******

We bought a second-hand chest freezer which was working but running constantly so I called these guys to have a look. They were very quick to respond and sounded confident about being able to fix it. They took a brief look at it at and said it needs a new thermostat and a re-gas but it would cost R1450. I paid this and after 10 mins they said they were done. After this the freezer didn't work any more i.e. everything was semi-defrosted from then on. We just sold it for spares to another repair person who confirmed that they had not installed a new thermostat (but left me a thermostat from another brand of freezer to make it look like they had). They also had not regased it and had cut the wire from the old thermostat which explained why it no longer worked. I can hardly believe it but the business model seems to be claim you can fix it, demand money, sabotage the appliance, then dodge calls. I did manage to get hold of this guy twice and he claimed someone would come and take a look but not surprisingly this hasn't happened
