So called credit checks - More like just taking your money

They took our application for a house, I asked if there where other applicants they said yes they are still waiting to hear if it was approved so I send in my application so long and paid R200 for a credit check per person as it is a joint application. 1 week later still did not hear from them and after numerous calls I sent an email enquiring, to which I go a reply stating the unit is no longer available - so I sent an email enquiring about the R400 that I had paid for the credit check, and they said this is not refundable - How can they have more that one applicant applying at the same time so they take R85 and pay for the credit check and R115 they pocket and then do not even bother to let you know this unit had been taken - so they actually use us to make money as they made R230 of my application as I do not even know if they did a credit check - they did not even notify me that this unit was taken our our application was not successful nothing. Poor poor service -can't reach them over a phone no answer for 2 days straight - where can we report things like this it is most definitely against the consumer protection act I am sure there must be some way the CPA can protect us as a consumer against estate agencies that just take you well earned money like this
