long assessment timeframe for exchange

bought a tv did not last even 3 months without giving me problems , now i lodged a query they say i have to wait a full 21 days minimum . what is the use of giving them the tv ad wait 21 days . should be 1 day assessment and exchange ..feel hard done by this cruelty
