John Harrison of J H HARRISON CONSTRUCTION C.C in Port Edward is nothing more than a cheap con artist. I entered into contract with this fly by night to build a holiday home in the South Coast for R 1,1mln. After paying him R500k upfront he only did R100k work and ran away from the site demanding more money upfront for work not done. After a year of the site been abandoned and legal action pending, we entered into agreement again that the balance of funds will be transferred to the estate's trust account Paul Preston and I did the payment for the full balance. This joke promised to commence and complete the home within 6 weeks. Took another 6 months but finished it so poorly and even deviated from plan and the quality of workmanship was simply up to maggots. He then **********ly obtained a completion cert from the Port Edward Municipality which was later revoked when he tried to use it to obtain the balance of funds from the attorneys since the home was still far from complete and also not build according to approved plans. We since put him in breach and which he failed to remedy and then cancelled his contract and had to obtain further contractors to them not only remedy his mess ups but also finish the home according to approved plans. This ended up costing me more than R300k than I should have paid from the onset. This was a total nightmare experience for me and in the end a total loss and waste of my time. I suggest that any person thinking about doing business with John Harrison of J H HARRISON CONSTRUCTION C.C to please steer clear if they don't wish to get burnt.
