My first experience with J and G Holdings. In a word, frustrating!

I placed an on-line order with J and G Holdings. J and G Holdings acknowledged having received my payment on 30 November but gave me no indication of a delivery date. I live in a rural village in the Karoo and buy 90% of my stuff on-line. From experience, delivery takes between 4 and 7 days depending on the retailer.

On 9 December, I sent J and G Holdings an email asking for an indication of when I could expect delivery. They rep**** “Your order was send with Intertown couriers. We will send the waybill number shortly.” I received a waybill number and a link to Intertown couriers web page.

Yesterday (12 December), I did another search to track my parcel. It stated: 07/Dec 07:28 - Checked in at Cedar Key facility 11/Dec 17:12 - Floor check at Cedar Key facility [whatever that means] 12/Dec 17:12 - Floor check at Cedar Key facility I emailed J and G Holdings. The reply was: “Intertown Couriers informed us delivery will be tomorrow (every Friday in the area). Should you wish to call the branch.” and gave me a number to call.

I phoned the number at 1h46pm today (Friday 13 Dec). The woman who answered was out of the office, did not have a pen to jot down my waybill number and told me that she would phone me back at 2pm when she got back to the office.

It is now 5h30pm and I am still waiting for that call. Clearly, I will not be getting my delivery today.

When I placed my order with J and G Holdings, under “Order notes”, I requested as follows: “Please give me a heads up at least 12 hours prior to delivery to ensure that there will be someone at the address”.

Since placing my order, I have not received any communication from Intertown Couriers.

According to J and G Holdings, Intertown Couriers only deliver to my area on Fridays.

Will I get my delivery next Friday?

Will I get a 12 hour heads up before delivery?

I have no idea!

Clearly it is not for me to chase J and G Holdings’ courier. I tried but Intertown Couriers do not believe in returning calls.

My last email to J and G Holdings was sent this morning at 8h07. I have received no reply. I guess that they have had enough of my queries.

It’s simple - DELIVER MY ORDER AND YOU WILL NOT HEAR FROM ME AGAIN.
