Unwise to be with Iwyze

Who can forget the way Iwyze treated that family who were forced to bring the corpse of their deceased relative to their offices to get attention. Seems this company has not learn't from their malfeasance and continue to treat people with disdain.

I tried their promotion where they, like Outsurance, claim to pay you back should they not be able to beat your current insurance and should you not have made a claim on your existing insurance for 3 years, they will increase the amount. Unlike Outsurance though, this company is a hassle and true to form they dont pay. I did the quote and after initially charging me R1116 for car insurance and failing to beat my current premium of R917, the person said he would speak to his boss to bring it to about R837, which I refused.

There are 2 issues which i found concerning: 1. If they were in a position to offer me a premium as low R837, why didnt they do so initially. Why "milk" customers esp during during a pandemic if they were in a position to charge almost R400 less? It is for this reason that I turned them down, I find it extremely dishonest to overcharge customers when they can offer something considerably cheaper and then to avoid paying the R1750 as in the promotion, they now want to offer a lesser premium.

2. I feel that they have an unfair advantage because, they had 2 chances to cover themselves to avoid having to pay the the R1750 as per the promotion. In my view, it should have been the first attempt only because it opens the door to exploitation. What guarantee do we have that they arent perhaps charging lets say 300%+ to start and then lowering because they have lots of leeway to eventually beat your premium. I shudder to think how many people have actually fallen into this trap.

In all honesty though, I cant say im surprised, they have a habit being difficult. As mentioned above, the trauma they put that family through in KZN last year, or the guy whose car was "too fancy" to insure. I have requested a copy of the recording so i can hopefully put it on social media to show how ********* they are.
