Time waster

Iwyze Old Mutual Insurance called me and requested that they give me a quote on my new vehicle. I agreed and the operater started the formalities which took approx 20 min. I was happy with the figure which was R 100 cheaper than my current provider so I asked to include my household content cover. Then suddenly she asked me if I had any previous convictions. I stated 'yes' as I did have one for Assault where I slapped a guy and paid a fine in 1998. She then asked me to hold the line. After a short wait her supervisor came on the line and told me sorry they cannot cover me due to my previous conviction. I was in shock and in dismay as I had taken long term and short term insurances for many years after 1998 but was never refused cover for that reason. I even told her that. She told me that, " we are Iwyze and we don't cover for your conviction." OK fine my point is if this was so then why keep me on the line for 25 minutes to tell me that. Why could that not be the first question. I'm am currently covered by Old Mutual Insure, it may be R100 more but I will stick with them. Thanks.
