Take insurance with ANY provider other than Old Mutual iWyze

I don't know where to begin with the frustrating experience I have had with Old Mutual's car insurance. I have been with them for over two years, and when times comes to claim when someone drives into the back of me, I cannot be more upset.

My monthly premium goes up as I log the claim, they send correspondence that my excess is R11k as opposed to the agreed R5800 due to them not even knowing that I am over 25 years old???? Delayed communication, at best being "I will revert", my report being lost in the system, a promise of timelines that isn't being adhered to by any stretch of the imagination, my cries for an escalation point ignored, no answer on the helpline.

It took over two weeks and daily nagging to no avail or answer. "Eventually I said, I am dropping my car for repairs on Monday, tell me where?"

Proline Autobody has been amazing, informative, understanding and helpful of how frustrating this has been, and what it's like to not have a car. Now the accurate report following the physical assessment has been submitted, and the car is stripped, ready.

We are once again waiting for Old Mutual, with staff going OOO and the system apparently being dysfunctional, and not handing over work, causing a two-day delay unnecessarily, and Proline has said all too often this is where the delay lies, and that they have even gone so far as to resubmit to help me. High praise to them for all the help. I have been managing this as if I were an employee, following up twice a day like a mad woman due to complete distrust, apologizing all the while for being forced to behave this way out of distrust.

Working in service myself, I can really understand things take time, but what a disaster! Their systems aren't working, staff aren't enabled, and I am left with a bitter taste in my mouth, telling anyone who cares to listen to never take out insurance with OMI. It's hard to accept the minor bump on the back of my car will take a month to fix, yet here we are. :(
