Shocking business ethics and excuses not to pay!!
On the 25th April I met up into a major accident. I loaded a claim the same day. A week later I was informed that my car was written off and that a settlement will be sent to me. This is where I can’t believe a business can have so little ethics!!!!
I must stress that at no point during my sign up process was it ever requested for me to provide proof of previous insurance. I have been driving since 2008 and all but one of the cars I have owned have been financed therefore it is impossible for me to have driven without insurance. I have always been listed as the regular driver on my mothers policy until joining iWyze on my own. Now it is being asked that I provide proof of the past 9+ years insurance. Had this proof been requested from me when I signed up, I would have endeavor to have supplid iWyze with this long ago and not wait till I need to claim.
It is well accepted within South African law (NCA/POPI etc) that consumers should store documents for a 5 year period. I find it highly questionable that I am been asked to furnish proof of insurance from 2009 now when it has come time for me to claim.
Secondly, it was never mentioned to me during my sign up or at any point during my contract with iWyze that an additional excess for “High Value” could be levied. I find this questionable as my insurance premiums were surely calculated on the value of the car.
There’s has been zero engagement from iWyze management. Going on 4 weeks now and still no resolution.
Stay away!!!
