PROTRACTED CLAIM

On the 23rd of November, I was involved in a car accident with a bus. The accident happened on the corner of Swartkoppies and Peggy Vera rd. I sustained injuries that inhibited me from writing my final exam. Even though the physical injuries are healed, I am left with a scar on my head and emotional distress as a result. The day after I left the hospital, I had severe headaches as a result of the concussion I suffered. I was bruised and struggled to walk due to soft tissue injuries.

Just when I thought that my nightmare was over, it was only beginning. On the 24th, when I was logging my claim, the consultant spoke to my brother as I was incapacitated at the time. My brother furnished him with all the relevant details. After my brother gave him all the relevant info, he (the consultant) went into details that only I could have known but due to his utter incompetence and after my brother told him that he was not the driver of the vehicle in question, the consultant had a rather insolent tone to his voice and kept asking my brother to "focus on the question". The phone was then given to me and I was asked a range of questions, some of which I could not answer as I was unconscious (I do not know whether there was any sense in asking me to substantiate on questions that I couldn't answer, given my situation). The consultant went on to go mute and little did I know that I was having a monologue. The second consultant Thabang was more helpful and was understanding towards my situation as well as Thantsa. Subsequent to this, we were informed that our contact person would be Chabang and that we would communicate via email. My brother sent the relevant documents on the 25th of November and there was no response. I indicated this lack of response on my email dated 12 Decemeber 2022 when there was no progress on the claim.

I was interacting with Mookho Puling and the email I sent on the 12th and on the 13th of December was ONLY answered on the 27th of December. I was asked to furnish the accident report on the 27th of December to which I responded that I do not have it however, it was filed on the 23rd of November at Mondeor police station. On the 6th of January, I was asked to state where the accident happened (Please note that I furnished these details on more than 1 occasion, at this I was sounding like a broken record). Not to be unhelpful, I further furnished these details to Mookho. The last time I spoke to Mookho, they told me that they tried calling Mondeor police station and could not get through. During this interaction, I was not requested to produce the accident report. On the 11th of January, I received a call from Bianca who was appointed as the senior validator (It has been more or less 49 days since we got into contact with Iwyze). To my surprise, I had to explain to Bianca what happened (AGAIN) and here's the best part, the driver who crashed into me claimed that I was under the influence of alcohol, and I had to substantiate whether I was drunk or not. If that is not ridiculous, I don't know what it is. Bianca requested me to furnish the accident report, details of where I was on the 23rd and witness information. I have been going around in circles. The question is why am I being asked the same questions over and over again? When should this claim be finalised? Should it be finalised in the year 3000? To say I am annoyed is an understatement. This claim has been going on for so long and quite frankly, I want to know why it was taken so long, I have been inconvenienced so many times and at this point it seems as though I will never have peace regarding this matter. The services rendered by Iwyze was purely, extremely and utterly poor. I thought that having insurance would mean peace of mind but in my experience with Iwyze, it has been pure and utter trash (minus 1 star service). I would not recommend this company as it clearly does not care about its customers and excels in making lives a living nightmare.
