Premiums refund

I need assistance, in October 2015 I took out an life cover from old mutual, last year I resigned, my policy was paid until February 2023, I got the records from them, I contacted them regarding cancelling the policy, and find out about my premiums, I am not satisfied with their answer because for me how many people are aware of that policy, my concern and sadness is that with 7years premiums just down the drain, I mean there should be some kind of a payment made back not all but atleast something.
